Altered Photo Canvas

Well, Ive been playing with my YUDU, and look what I did!  I edited some photos and made abstract photo bags.  Here are the pics in order of process...  The red pic is my 5 yr old, and the green one is my nephew.  I still have to finish making the screens for my 2 yr old.  What do you think?

I think I was pushing too hard with the black ink, because on both of these, I have the black sliding thru on the bottom....what the heck, its abstract, right??  LOL

Baby Sock Corsages

My latest project for consignment/craft show. I really like how they turned out! I have realized, though, that I havent done any scrapbooking in a VERY long time!! I think after the craft show next month, that will have to change!!

Cricut Circle

The following message will only be understood by Cricut ADDICTS, LOL

Ok, so I did it!  I was sooo on the fence on this one.  I wasnt able to join in June due to the fact that we were in contract negotiations and I was anticipating going on-strike in July and couldnt spend any money.   So now when they re-opened the Circle, I wanted to join (because I hate missing out on anything, LOL), but I didnt know if it would be worth it for me because you no longer get the 800 points for joining.  I hemmed and hawed, hesitated for a long while.  I was thinking it was only supposed to be open for joining thru the 2nd.  I never signed up.  So then tonight I figured I would check and see if it is still open.  If I missed it, I wasnt meant to join, if it was still up, it was meant to be.  So low-and-behold, it let me sign up!  I had to quick hit the purchase button before I changed my mind!!!  I hope I like it!  I only did the quarterly membership cuz I dont know if I will like it yet....   Did anyone else take the plunge???  What do you think?

Yudu Fun

I FINALLY caved and bought the Yudu Screenprinting Machine! I had been hesitating for the longest time because I didnt know if I would get enough use out of it. But now that I am doing craft shows and consignment, I am hoping it will be worth it... It is really pretty cool, the only thing I dont like is the heat setting. Ironing each piece for at least 3 minutes is quite BORING! Maybe if I can have enough profit from them I can invest in a heat press... Here are some of the onesies I have done so far, all but the princess one were special requests... The computer only let me upload a couple at a time, so I will add more later!

Consignment Time

I have an etsy site, still pretty much in its infancy. http://www.etsy.com/shop/rachiessweetstuff  Well, someone local with a new floral shop and boutique saw my baby washcloth candy and asked if I was interested in doing consignment. Something entirely new for me, but I thought, what the heck! She takes a decent cut, but she has to pay rent and labor costs... Making up price decisions is the toughest! I have had it there for a week and have sold 3 things already :) Most of my stuff isnt very expensive, so it doesnt add up to much, but its better than nothing....So she wants me to be her "baby person", I have been goin crazy thinking of stuff to make and bring...Do you like these diaper cakes???? The Pooh Trike includes diapers, 2 receiving blankets, 2 bibs, a bottle, and of course the stuffed toy. I think I am going to have to price them like $59 in order to make enough money for it to be worth it, we'll see if it sells.....

More projects for Demo

I made this card with the Love Struck Seasonal Cart. Love this cut ;) I made this one to show off the Gypsy and how you can make a card by flipping and welding almost any image..

This sign was made with the new Mini Monsters cart, along with mickey font and all mixed up. The title on the sign is the name of my "small business" and Etsy site. I inked it a bit for more visual interest. I love the look of inking, but dont do it often enough.

Cindy Loo Frame and Clock

I got the Cindy Loo cart for my birthday and I am LOVING these cute little animals! I have been meaning to alter this clock for a long time and I think it turned out pretty cute! I also made the frame from the same cart. I brought both of these items with me to the Demo I did at Michaels on Sunday :)

Create a Critter Birthday Cards

I just LOVE this Create-a-Critter Cart!  It has such cute animals, and I know you've heard it before, but it layers so easy!!  I really need to get some of the cute "punnilicious" stamps from My Pink Stamper.  That would be the finishing touch...  I usually dont make a card until I need it, but then sometimes I procrastinate too long and dont get the card made.  So I have decided to make a few to have on-hand.  I like that the cards come together quick, a sense of accomplishment :)  However, I really need to do a scrapbook page soon, its been WAY TOO LONG!!!!!

Mothers Day Card

Ok, so im a bit late at updating, LOL. Here is the Mothers Day card I made for my mom and mother-in-law. I also made one with the Grandmother cut for my grandma. The Mother cut is from the Mothers Day Seasonal cartridge. I really like the seasonal carts, havent gotten the Summer ones yet, though.... I am one of the unfortunate Minnesota Nurses going on strike Thursday. Have to save all the money I can, because I dont know what the summer holds for me....

Cricut Demo

Forget Nursing, Ive got a new job!!!!!  LOL  I just got hired today to be one of the Cricut Demonstrators in the Michaels Stores (cant you see my perma-grin??)  It is happening very fast.  I expressed my interest in an email this weekend.  I got a phone call on monday telling me more about the position, and then today, Wednesday, I got the job!  I have to send in a bunch of paperwork, did a bunch on-line.  BUT, I have to drive all the way to Edina (about 25 miles, and on the other side of the Twin Cities) for a drug screen, LOL.  And I have some notarizing to do cuz the company is based in California.  I am SOO excited to get a new Cricut Cake and play around with it!  I hope I can do it justice!!!

Washcloth Candy

I LOVE these "candies" for baby showers. They have 2 infant washclothes wrapped up with celophane and curling ribbon. The suckers use an infant spoon for the stick. Another thing for my craft show.

And be sure to scroll down, cuz I just posted 4 different things this morning and last night :)

Tutus

I made this tutu actually in my 21 month old sons size, but he would have nothing to do with it. SOOOO my 5 year old wanted to try it on. I couldnt get it off him!!! He loved it and wanted one, LOL. I think it is soooo cute, too bad I only have boys....

So then I thought it would be cute to have a dress, so I bought sparkle tulle and sewed it to the bottom of a tank top. There are 4 layers of tulle on each skirt. I think this will look adorable with leggings! I might still add an optional flower on the waist if I can find something
I like..... So Cute!

pipe cleaner rings

So I saw a segment on Martha Stewart with Wendy the Pipecleaner Lady making pipe cleaner rings. I kinda ran with that and made a ton of rings. I think I am gonna put them in a little dish at the craft show for $0.25 a piece. Good for the little girls walking by with their moms :)

George Wrapper

I had a request for a wrapper from for the baby bug, using George.  I have it done, but I dont have George, so if someone downloads it, if you could tell me how it works, I would appreciate it :)

adult wrapper george

Just an FYI, I use a bunch of different brands of ladies socks.  Some are thicker than others.  I only use the full size for the real thick ones.  The others, I make my own new slits with a scissors and overlap the wrapper a bit.  Makes the wrapper much more versitile :)

Diaper Cake

I finally pulled the trigger and signed up for a craft show this fall :) So I have been putting things together to get ideas of stuff to go along with the cupcake socks... I made this diaper cake and used Gypsy wanderings for the title. I used a little gemstone for the "i". The piggie is a porcelain bank that I got at the Dollar Tree :) I dont know how many of them I will do cuz they take up a lot of room, but i think they are cute!
